landsat_mpc

Load Landsat Collection 2 Level-2 bands as a lazy source stage.

Callable type: Grammar verb / pipe stage · Browse: Other helpers

Usage

from cubedynamics import verbs as v
v.landsat_mpc(value, *, bbox, start, end, bands=('red', 'nir08'), max_cloud_cover=50, epsg=None, resolution=30, chunksize=1024, platforms=None, stac_url='https://planetarycomputer.microsoft.com/api/stac/v1')

Arguments

Argument Meaning Default
value Pipe input, unused. required
bbox WGS84 [west, south, east, north]. required
start ISO dates for STAC discovery. required
end ISO dates for STAC discovery. required
bands MPC asset names, defaults to red and nir08. Optical values are physical surface reflectance: do not apply Collection 2 scaling again. ('red', 'nir08')
max_cloud_cover Strict upper bound on scene cloud percentage, not a pixel cloud mask. 50
epsg Output EPSG. Inferred only from complete, common STAC EPSG metadata; otherwise supply explicitly. No geographic UTM guessing. None
resolution Output pixel size in CRS units (30 meters for a meter-based CRS). 30
chunksize Dask chunk size accepted by stackstac, defaults to 1024. 1024
platforms Optional STAC platform filter, e.g. ("landsat-8", "landsat-9"). None
stac_url STAC API endpoint. 'https://planetarycomputer.microsoft.com/api/stac/v1'

Accepts

Location, dates and Landsat-specific options forwarded to the source helper.

Returns

xarray.DataArray Dask-backed (time, band, y, x) cube. Compute triggers remote COG reads.

Order / grammar behavior

A pipe passes the preceding result to the next callable. Confirm that the previous step's dimensions and semantic state satisfy the input contract. Reductions can remove dimensions; plotting may produce side effects.

Minimal example

Use the Landsat MPC workflow with live STAC access. This source integration is not a registered scientific noun.

Works with

Location, dates and Landsat-specific options forwarded to the source helper.
