This page highlights the temporal structure of the FIRE-MODEL program.

Three-year sequence

  1. Year 1 / Verify: build the unified event dataset, extract A(t) and P(t), estimate σ, and validate transition-detection diagnostics.
  2. Year 2 / Predict: evaluate competing model structures in a shared diagnostic space and test regime-aware predictive gains.
  3. Year 3 / Synthesis: operationalize the reduced geometry-constrained model with transition-aware gating, then release and integrate outputs for users.

Why the sequence matters

The sequence is intentionally structured so that:

  • observational verification and uncertainty-aware diagnostics establish the evidence base before model discrimination,
  • comparative benchmarks are completed before final synthesis decisions,
  • synthesis includes implementation, release, and user-facing integration rather than treating adoption as an afterthought.
