Model trust hardening audit — 2026-10-21

Inspection before implementation

Inspected README/AGENTS, current website and sixteen-figure generator, recent git history (cf18bc2, 0646d2f, 3f64c2e), contracts/schemas, CLI/examples, tests, model/OpenClaw transports, consensus/scoped review, scalar/raster executors, streaming, MOSAIKS, provenance and cache keys. Existing uncommitted documentation, inventory and semantic-contract edits were preserved.

There were no model-controlled eval, exec, shell=True, SQL or dynamic-import execution paths. Docker subprocess calls use fixed argument arrays and are runtime administration, not model permissions. The reference generator imports a maintained module list; the existing embedding writer's static hashlib import is unrelated to model content. No useful infrastructure was removed.

Concrete gaps and resolutions

Gap Resolution
Allow-list existed only as literals/branches First-class read-only ten-operation registry with metadata and fixed implementations
Legacy models returned executor Operation objects New SELECT/PARAMETERIZE decisions choose caller-frozen capabilities
Streaming prompt asked model to transcribe coefficients Deterministic metadata reference resolution; no writable coefficient fields
Repeated scalar/raster unit factors Shared immutable versioned conversion constants
Model proposal with curated mapping could escape an explicit model-review flag Non-fixture agent proposals require human review even with otherwise curated semantics
Implementation identity too coarse Registry/code/validator/constants identity in new recipes, products and cache keys
No explicit typed safe decision outcome API Structural/scientific validation, abstention and failure state contracts
Trust boundary hard to inspect Dedicated technical guide, updated role table, diagram, governance and offline example

OpenClaw installed version was checked with openclaw --version in the isolated container: 2026.5.18 (50a2481). Retained runtime metadata declares llm-task, Verde js2/gpt-oss-120b and no model tools. Adapter/runtime code inspection confirms fixed route, no fallback, no heartbeat, no channels and JSON-schema-only task inference. No runtime configuration, credentials, working-group routes or Slack integration changed. No live inference or source acquisition was performed.

Validation and limits

The full offline suite passes 175 tests, including 40 new registry/decision/demo cases. Sockets are disabled by the test fixture. Every registered operation has a positive dispatch, output/lineage and invalid-parameter test; existing executor tests retain support, rights, edge-case and scientific integration coverage. The fixture demo completes selection → validation → review → deterministic execution and records unsupported-operation and ambiguous-mapping outcomes.

Structural validity does not prove the truth of a model's prose or an ontology relationship. Human scientific review remains essential. No real Sentinel review was forced to approval. General statistical QA, ontology composition, reprojection, resampling and authenticated human governance remain unimplemented.

Strict MkDocs build and the repository local link/media checker pass across 55 HTML pages. Python compilation and git diff --check pass; no linter is configured. The generated capability manifest and verified fixture result are retained under run/operation-capabilities-final.json and run/operation-trust-final/ as ignored local evidence. Historical demo iterations remain unchanged.

During this pass the repository HEAD advanced to c134f36 (website update), capturing some in-progress changes. That existing history was preserved; no reset, rebase, commit or publication was performed by this agent.
